Langevin Attends Oval Office Signing of the ADA Amendments Act

(Warwick, R.I.) - Congressman Jim Langevin today attended the ADA Amendments Act signing ceremony in the Oval Office with the President, his father and congressional leaders, including Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.

Langevin offered the following statement:

“I was delighted to take part in today’s historic bill signing at the White House. As someone who has lived with the challenges of a disability both before and after the ADA's enactment in 1990, I have experienced, first hand, the profound changes that this law has effected within our society.  The ADA was groundbreaking civil rights legislation and the bill signed today reaffirms its protections and upholds the ideals of equality and opportunity on which this country was founded. ”
