Prescription Drug Coverage -
Paying for Coverage
The coverage and costs are different for each Medicare drug plan,
but all plans must provide at least a standard level of coverage
set by Medicare. Costs and coverage for particular drugs will vary
depending on which drugs the person uses, which Medicare drug plan
he or she chooses, whether they go to a pharmacy in the plan's
network, and whether they qualify for "extra help" from Medicare to
pay for prescription drug costs. ("Extra help" is a program to help
people with limited income and resources pay prescription drug
costs.)
