Hello,

I work with a small ESL program in southern Illinois. We have seen an
increase of ESL students who want to begin studying for their citizenship
test. Additionally, we have tried to work civic participation into our
lessons by encouraging those students who are functioning at a high level to
become trained tutors to work with low level ESL students. So far we have
five students who have become trained tutors. We are encouraging these
students to share the knowledge they have acquired through our program, with
others who are just beginning.
