Planning Near Youarrow New Web-Based Video Explains Planning Near You
The Pinellas County Planning Department, in cooperation with PCC-TV, debuts a new, monthly web-based program to explain land-use issues. Planning Near You is designed to detail upcoming plan amendments, rezoning proposals and code changes for public hearing before the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners each month. Grove Park Village, a new development dedicated to providing permanent housing for homeless persons, has opened on Grove Park Avenue in East Lealman. Twelve single occupancy one- and two-bedroom units were developed by the St. Petersburg non-profit, Boley Centers, Inc, aided with Pinellas County funding. more>> new

Summer Food ProgramChildren can still receive nutritious meals during summer break at many recreation and community centers, school sites, churches and day camps throughout Pinellas County. The Summer Food Service Program, sponsored by the Pinellas County Health & Human Services Department, will run from June 9 through Aug. 11. more>> new

The Florida Department of Health Florida is asking anyone who is ill to stay home from work or school to avoid contaminating someone. A toll free information line has been established to address an increasing number of calls from the public requesting Swine Flu information. Pinellas County Public Works recently closed 38th Avenue N., between 33rd Street North and 31st Street N. in St. Petersburg, for road improvements. The expected road closure is approximately 107 days, pending weather conditions. more>>

arrow What’s Down the Road for Regional Transportation
The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) announces a public hearing to present its Regional Transportation Master Plan for Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 11, at 6 p.m., at the Dr. Blaise F. Alfano Conference and Banquet Center, 11606 N. McKinley Drive, Tampa. more>>
