USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference
Release 13

NOTE:  The USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, Release 18 is now available and supersedes previous releases.  Access to Release 12 of the USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference is provided here for those users who may wish to use it for historical reasons. 

This page provides access to Release 13 of the USDA Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. You can either view the data here or download the data files and documentation in several different formats for use later on your computer. A search tool is also provided so you can look up the nutrient content of over 6,200 different foods directly from this home page.

• Search the database online (Note:  This search DOES NOT access the SR13 data files, but the latest release.)
• Display  reports of all the foods in the database.  You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer to view these reports.  These reports can also be downloaded to your PC and/or printed on your printer.
• Download the database for use on your computer.  These files are in a relational format and are best used with a relational database management system (RDBMS).  A RDBMS allows you  to form your own queries of the database and generate custom reports. 
• Full documentation describing all the files, their fields and relationships accompanies the database and can be viewed online.  The ASCII files can also be viewed online.
