Does anyone know of reliable software to determine readability of materials in Spanish? Thank you.

NIFL Memebers,

I've been asked before what reading level is Medlineplus in Spanish. And, I've given a judicious guess that it's the level of a newspaper, for example, like El Norte of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. That's a newspaper on sale here everyday and I've been reading it for years. It's not too wordy like some newspapers.

You can take a look at www.lanic.utexas.edu and read newspapers from all over Latin America. Many have 'health' sections. They would be interesting in comparing with what the readers might have found reading Medlineplus in Spanish.
