There's an important connection between American Literature and
Spanish Literature. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was the first Spanish
teacher at Harvard University. He has made many of the best
translations of the great wroks of Spanish literature. Some of his
poems and translations of poems are so good that it's difficult to
distinguish his originals in English from the ones that were translated
into English.
