1. Age-related changes in reading and oral language comprehension and
others have been newly added to the LINCS Grants Database of over 400
grants and funding resources at:

The National Institute on Aging and the National Institute of Child
Health and Human Development invite qualified researchers to submit
grant applications for research projects designed to examine
age-related changes in reading and language comprehension abilities and
to develop interventions that prevent or compensate for declines.
Application deadline is February 1, 2004.

2.Establishing an evidence-based adult education system is one of the
new additions to the LINCS Materials Database at:

This paper proposes a way to establish an evidence-based adult education
system and calls for support to implement such a system effectively.

3. International Reading Association 49th Annual Convention (May 2004)
is included in the LINCS Calendar of Events at:

The theme for 2004 is "Teaching the World to Read".
