Regulatory Compliance
Although the Department of Energy is not a regulatory agency, it is affected by a variety of statutes, legislation, regulations, directives and guidance. Many of the current compliance-related actions revolve around waste and material disposition. These include Section 3116 Determinations, Records of Decision, and Environmental Impact Statements. Information about EM's waste and material disposition can be found below. In addition, links to compliance agreements and other compliance-related resources are provided.

Compliance Agreements
- Compliance agreements illustrate and help support the development of effective compliance approaches and strategies, and can assist in promoting greater cooperation, coordination, and consistency with other EM offices, Departmental organizations, and State agencies.
State Agreements-In-Principle Information and Guidance
- This office coordinates within Environmental Management offices and other Departmental organizations to review proposed Agreements-in-Principle (AIPs) with States.
