Outdoor activities are very popular at New River Gorge National River. Activities include whitewater boating, fishing, hunting, photography, sightseeing, picnicking, primitive camping, recreational climbing, horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking.

Groups and businesses that visit the park for recreational and instructional activities may be required to obtain a permit. More information is available on our Permit Information Page.
