NSO Receives Recognition for DAF Roof Repairs
NNSA Roof Project Completed Two Years Early and 80 Percent Under Budget
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has recognized the Nevada Site Office (NSO) for completing a construction
project at the Nevada Test Site more than two years ahead of schedule and at only 20 percent of the original cost estimate.
A roof renovation project at the Device Assembly Facility (DAF) was originally projected at a cost of $10 million, with an
estimated completion date of September 2011. Last month, the work was completed early at a cost of $2.2 million.
During a ceremony recognizing the accomplishment, NNSA Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Military Application Brig.
General Garrett Harencak, applauded the project managers for saving U.S. taxpayers $7.8 million.
