Title
Off The Rocks Theater Benefit Performance
Description
About this benefit: Joan Cullinane and Morgan Hobkirk are local actors who were commissioned to write self-revelatory solo performances through Out Norths Under 30 showcase in 2005 and 2006. As a fundraiser for Off
the Rocks, Cullinane and Hobkirk are reprising their popular performances for one night.

Merrow is the artists journey as a mental health worker and consumer. Working with puppets and a game show Joan Cullinane draws the audience into her show and onto the stage.

"Outside the Lines" takes us into Morgan Hobkirk's world of living with multiple learning disabilities. He shows us his difficulties with shoe-tying, childhood, school days and adult life, where he is helped
and or hindered by teachers, counselors and the bureaucracy.

What is Off the Rocks? Off the Rocks is a project using theatre and drama therapy as tools to create a healing process for women in recovery
and to increase community awareness about substance abuse. This exciting
project started from a grassroots effort by drama therapist Tami Lubitsh, Akeela Inc., and Out North. Across the United States, successful and innovative treatment methods are springing up. In
Anchorage, Alaska, we have the Off the Rocks theatre group. Our drama therapy group is using theatre to promote health, foster growth, and enhance the wellness of individuals and the community at-large.

Visit the Off the Rocks website at: www.offtherocks.org

Off the Rocks is funded in part by a grant from the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority.
