2008 National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month Press Conference and Kick-Off - SAMHSA-Sponsored
Description
The Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will unveil the results of the 2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health at a press conference on Thursday, September 4. The annual survey, formerly called the Household Survey is the largest of its kind, and is the governments primary vehicle for determining how many persons are abusing illegal drugs, pharmaceuticals, alcohol and tobacco.

The release of the 2007 survey results is the keynote of the annual National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month press conference marking a month long observance of the gains made by those in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, as well as treatment providers.

2nd Annual Recovery Ride
Description
Bicycle ride to show support for Recovery and those in Recovery. There will be a slow paced ride of 4 miles with a stop half way. There will also be a 12 mile ride with the last 8 miles at a somewhat faster pace. There will be available rides of longer lengths for those that want more riding. The break is at Lucia's Pizzeria. Forsyth Park, Lucas Avenue Kingston NY. Exit 19 on the NYS Thruway - take Washington Ave exit on the rotary go 1 mile turn right at Friendly's and park in Deitz Stadium or surrounding streets. Forsyth Park is behind the stadium. Or go to the next block Lucas Avenue and turn right and Forsyth Park is 1/4 mile on right. Ride starts at the Nature Center.

Walk the Journey is a fundraising walk to benefit the Caron Treatment Centers Adolescent Scholarship Fund, raise awareness of the serious disease of addiction, and help remove barriers to recovery for those who are currently struggling with alcohol and drug addictions.
The walk is presented by 3 local high school seniors from St. Joseph Hill, St. John Villa, and Notre Dame and A Tailored Event.
