Calling All Volunteers!"Why this is wonderful!" "You're the best thing about coming to this meeting!" "Wish I had known about this before!" Where do you hear comments such as these? When you're a volunteer in the PSRML exhibit booth, demonstrating the National of Library of Medicine's web resources! PSRML will be representing the National Library of Medicine at exhibits at the following health professional meetings over the next six months. These meetings are traditionally well attended by a variety of health professionals. PSRML staff and volunteers will be demonstrating PubMed, MEDLINEplus, ClinicalTrials.gov, the NLM Gateway and other free information resources available on web. They will also be distributing literature on health web sites relevant to the various conference attendees. Volunteers need to be familiar with NLM web sites and be willing to commit about 4 hours of their time. In return you get to introduce health professionals to information that can help them better care for their patients, and experience the excitement of an exhibit hall from the exhibitor's perspective. Volunteers who are members of the MLA Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP), a peer-reviewed professional development and career recognition program, are also eligible for activity points under the Individual Accomplishment and Conference Exhibitor category. Three (3) points are awarded for exhibitor participation at national meetings. PSRML reimburses volunteers for all travel costs. Please review the exhibit schedule below and contact us at (800) 338-7657 or at psr-nnlm@library.ucla.edu if you are interested in this professional opportunity. Come join us in the exhibit hall!
