Over the last quarter century, biological and behavioral research supported by NIDA scientists has clearly shown that drug abuse is a preventable behavior and that drug addiction is a treatable brain disease.
"NIDA: Celebrating a Quarter Century of Scientific Progress" will focus on what we have learned in the last 25 years since the creation of the National Institute on Drug Abuse and directions for the next quarter century of research in the field.
Both the daylong scientific symposium and the evening event for the general public are free and open to all.
