section on its web site.
- Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA)
1-800-621-FEMA (3362) TTY: 1-800-462-7585 - FEMA's site contains
information about disasters, emergency personnel, education, and training.
The site contains information about the types of hazards, where to obtain
assistance, and preparedness.
- DisasterHelp.gov -
The DisasterHelp web site was developed as part of President Bush's
Disaster Management E-gov initiative, which aims to enhance disaster
management on an interagency and intergovernmental basis.
- Heritage
Emergency National Task Force - The Heritage Emergency
National Task Force is co-sponsored by Heritage Preservation
and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

MedlinePlus contains disaster preparation and recovery information under
the heading Health Topics.

Cancer Institute- Information for displaced cancer patients,

Wildfires web page includes information on the health effects

Populations: Emergency and Disaster Preparedness -
provides links to selected web sites featuring emergency
preparedness for special populations. This includes people with
disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairments, senior
citizens, people with disabilities, people with visual or hearing
impairments, senior citizens, children, and women. Links to information
in languages other than English are also provided.
- Ready.America -
The Ready Campaign asks individuals to do three key things to prepare
for the unexpected: get an emergency supply kit, make a family emergency
plan, and be informed about the different types of emergencies that could
occur and their appropriate responses.
- U.S.
Department of Education- The U.S. Department of Education
Ed.gov site has emergency planning web resource for school leaders
and managers that was created by the Office of Safe and Drug-Free
Schools. The information was created to help schools and communities
prepare and develop plans for responding to emergency situation (e.g.,
natural disasters, violent incidents, and terrorist attacks).
