Title | Tree of Hope Celebration |
Description | NCADD of Middlesex County, Inc. celebrates National Recovery Month each September by awarding the Tree of Hope to an organization that promotes recovery. Too often, the publics image of an alcoholic or drug addict is that of someone in, or one step away from, the gutter.
The Tree of Hope aims to change that image by bringing together individuals who have experienced the life-changing transformation that true recovery brings. These individuals are our neighbors, friends, and family members. By recognizing these individuals publicly, they not only help change the perception that addiction is hopeless, but their example can be a powerful inspiration for those just starting on the road to recovery themselves.
This years recipient is Crawford House in Skillman. A ceremony to re-dedicate their Tree of Hope, and recognize the facility, will be held September 16th starting at 5pm. |

Title | CELEBRATE RECOVERY at Abundant Life Church of God |
Description | Celebrate Recovery is open to everyone who is battling any type of habit, struggle or hurt.
This recovery program addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups. Some recovery programs deal only with alcohol or drugs or another single problem. But Celebrate Recovery is a "large umbrella" program under which a limitless number of issues can be dealt with.
This recovery program is forward-looking. Rather than wallowing in the past, or dredging up and rehearsing painful memories over and over, Celebrate Recovery focuses on the future. Regardless of what has already happened, the solution is to start making wise choices now and depend on Christ's power to help me make those changes.
This recovery program emphasizes personal responsibility. Instead of playing the "accuse and excuse" game of victimization, this program helps people face up to their own poor choices and deal with what they can do something about. We cannot control all that happens to us. But we can control how we respond to everything. That is a secret of happiness. When we stop wasting time fixing the blame, we have more energy to fix the problem. When you stop hiding your own faults and stop hurling accusations at others, then the healing power of Christ can begin working in your mind, will, and emotions.

Type of Event | Recovery support |
Location | Abundant Life Church of God 632 Colts Neck Road (Route 537 East) Freehold, NJ 07728 |
Program Agenda | 7:00-8:00-- As soon as you walk through our doors, youll be greeted by one of our leaders, who will give you all of the materials youll need for the meeting. We start each meeting with a time of uplifting and inspiring music to set the tone. Our perspective is forward looking. While we all must recognize our past actions, Celebrate Recovery does not dwell on the past but focuses on the future, one where we have everlasting freedom from our burdens.
After the music, there is a message which is based on proven life-changing principles that address our attitudes and habits
8:00-9:00-- Next, we break out into small groups to further discuss and apply what weve learned with others who are struggling with the same issues.
Small groups allow the opportunity to share personal thoughts and feelings, give and receive support as well as learn specific attitudes and behaviors to successfully overcome your challenges and struggles in a safe setting. We respect the privacy of one another, so whats shared does not go beyond those in the group. And, each group is lead by someone who has participated in the program, so the group leader understands what youre going through. While we acknowledge taking personal responsibility as part to the recovery progress, you are not in this alone you have the support of your group, the group leader, a personal sponsor, and the almighty power of God in whom nothing is impossible!
