Speaking Up -- Women's Voices in Environmental Decision Making Rebecca Clay Abstract Women are beginning to make an impact on environmental decision making on many levels of government in countries around the world. Visibility and representation at meetings such as the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development in late summer of 2002 is bringing about greater recognition of the female perspective on many environmental and human health issues. A number of women's activist groups have formed to tackle a wide range of ecological and health problems, and governments are starting to take notice of these actions and incorporate gender considerations into environmental policies.
