Refer to charts for location of a dangerous rock just below water surface towards east side of bay on approach to cabin.

Firewood not provided for outdoor campfires.

Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. DO NOT leave food behind when vacating cabin. Pack out all gear that you bring to cabin.

Cabin is NOT maintained during winter.

Cabin built in 1993 by Sitka volunteers

Special features: Cabin is a popular destination for Sitkans. Views down and across Nakwasina Sound.

In the early 1960s, several forested areas in Nakwasina Sound were harvested. During the summer, the vegetation pattern in these areas appears more dense (overstory of alder with understory of spruce and hemlock) and a brighter green than the darker, less dense tops of the surrounding hemlock-spruce forest.

Saltwater fishing and deer hunting are possible from this cabin. Brown bear frequent the area.
