| | Wielenga named VP for advancement Northwestern has named Jay Wielenga, director of advancement, as vice president for advancement. He will begin his new position July 1. A 1982 NWC graduate, Wielenga first joined the staff as alumni director in 1995. He has been in his current position for eight years.
| | | | | | Religion professor receives NWC teaching award John Vonder Bruegge, a religion instructor described as having a love for both students and Scripture, has been named this year’s recipient of the Northwestern Teaching Excellence Award. He received a $1,500 check and a plaque at the college’s Honors Convocation on May 5.
| | | | | | H1N1 (swine flu) preparedness In response to the outbreak of H1N1 influenza (swine flu) in the U.S., Mexico, Canada and other countries, Northwestern has activated its pandemic influenza response plan. Several steps are being taken to monitor the health of those in the NWC community and to provide advice on how to avoid the spread of illness.
