Ask an Astrobiologist
"What will happen to Earth after 70 million years if we consider plate tectonics? What may be the chicken's evolutionary response to these?"
  1. Question

Will the next planet NASA will explore be Eris?

No, Eris is simply too far away. It would take about 20 years for a spacecraft to reach Eris. The good news, however, is that we do have a spacecraft called New Horizons that is headed for a similar dwarf planet, Pluto. Read about it at http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/.
