Technical Assistance to States
DOE provides specialized technical assistance to the states in the form of economic analysis, code comparisons, webcast training, and compliance material development requested by states to help them adopt, upgrade, implement, and enforce their building energy codes.
Process
States are divided into areas with an assigned Project Management Center (PMC) -- see the map below for details. Requests must be in writing (email or formal letter) and directed through the assigned PMC.
The technical assistance request must include:
- Detailed explanation of what is being requested
- Date by which the request must be completed
- Contact information for the person who can answer technical questions regarding the request
State requests will be coordinated with the State Point of Contact (POC), DOE Headquarters, PMC staff, and BECP staff. Requests, activity, and progress will be monitored continuously.
