Countries Requiring ISPM 15

CHINA

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China published requirements adopting ISPM 15 for wood packaging material (WPM). The regulation was implemented June 1, 2005 .

Wood packaging material as defined by China is wood or wood products used in supporting, packing, and carrying a commodity such as crates, wooden crates, pallet, wooden frames, wooden casks, shafts, wedges, sole timber, sleepers, pallets, dunnage, etc.

The following materials are not subject to treatment and certification:

These are produced by deep processing procedures of synthesizing or heating and pressing wood packing materials such as plywood, fiberboard and flake board, excelsior sawdust, wood shaving, slender and curved pieces as well as less than 6mm pieces of wood.

Questions pertaining to where HT lumber may be purchased, how to become certified, costs pertaining to enrollment, required marks etc. may be directed to the ALSC or any of the inspection agencies.
