HIV/AIDS and Hispanic Americans

  • Hispanic Americans accounted for 17% of all HIV/AIDS cases in 2007.
  • Hispanic males are almost 3 times as likely to have AIDS in 2006 as compared to white males.
  • Hispanic females are almost 5 times as likely to have AIDS in 2006 as white females.
  • Hispanic men were 2.5 times as likely as non-Hispanic white men to die of HIV/AIDS in 2005.
  • Hispanic women were three times as likely as non-Hispanic white women to die of HIV/AIDS in 2005.
