The GUAHAN (Guam HIV/AIDS Network) Project unveiled the Pacific Resource and Training Center on September 30, 2006 at the Core Pacific Building, Suite # 301, Chalan San Antonio Street, Tamuning, Guam.
This new center will serve pacific island jurisdictions with health resources and training opportunities that address HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and sexually transmitted infections throughout the U.S. territories. The Pacific Resource and Training Center is made possible by an award from the federal Office of Minority Health (OMH) and its Resource Center (OMHRC).
The opening of this center coincides with a series of capacity building initiatives that were begun through the OMHRC in the U.S. Pacific Jurisdictions beginning in 2002. GUAHAN has been working with OMHRC over the last two years to increase its own organizational development. Now they have received additional funds from other international organizations to complement the work that they have been carrying out from their base in Guam.
