| Expect to get dirty while crawling thought tight passageways and climbing up slippery flowstone chimneys. Our most challenging tour; ladders, ropes, free-climbing and slippery surfaces will be encountered on this trip to see the White Giant Formation. Each person should bring gloves, 4-AA batteries and knee pads; the Park provides helmets and headlamps. Participants should wear sturdy shoes. | Tour through four highly decorated chambers with a variety of cave formations descending to the deepest portion of the cavern open to the public at 830 feet deep. Rangers briefly turn off all artificial lights to reveal the natural darkness of the cave. The trail is paved however, there is a steep 80 foot hill you must go down and then back up at the end of the tour. Participants must wear sturdy walking shoes and are required to have a general admission & tour ticket. Prices for Interagency Senior and Access pass holders are for those pass holders only.

| This is the easiest of the adventure tours on unpaved trails. It is an historic lantern-lit tour through an undeveloped section of the cave. Be aware that the dirt trail winds over small uneven slopes and careful footing is required to navigate around cavern pools and fragile formations. Lanterns are provided. The age limit of 6 is strictly enforced. Participants must wear sturdy walking shoes and are required to have a general admission & tour ticket. | National Geographic expedition members in 1924 wrote about the wonders of Lower Cave. Visitors today can see the evidence left behind from these and other explorers. You will descend 10 feet into Lower Cave down a flowstone slope by knotted rope and proceed to descend 50 feet down three sets of ladders. This trip is not recommended for anyone with a fear of enclosed spaces. Bring gloves, four new AA alkaline batteries and optional kneepads per person. The park provides helmets and headlamps. | Ranger-guided tours of Slaughter Canyon Cave take you into an underground wilderness without electricity. Located miles from the bustle of the main Visitor Center, please allow two hours travel time to reach the cave mouth for your tour (Do not drive to the Visitor Center for this tour). There is no crawling on this tour, but a strenuous hike up a steep 1/2 mile trail makes this a challenging trip in an unspoiled back country setting. | Spider Cave is a three-dimensional maze cave. A caver's paradise, even veteran cavers will enjoy the adventure of Spider. It is home to some of the most unusual cave formations you will see in any cave at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Bring gloves, four new AA alkaline batteries and kneepads per person and expect to get dirty as you crawl through the tight passageways. The park provides helmets and headlamps. Participants will hike a 1/2 mile down beautiful Garden Grove Canyon to get to the cave after a short drive in your car from the Visitors Center.
