ALTURAS AREA PICNIC B (ID), SAWTOOTH NF - FS, ID

Description

Located along the sandy shoreline of Alturas Lake. Restrooms provided. Picnic Area is situated in an alpine environment. Average summer temperatures are 78 degrees high, and 40 degrees low. Popular activities are the Arts and Crafts Fair in July, Wagon Days in September, and the Salmon Festival, Fireman's Ball and Quilt Fair.

If area is not reserved it is open to first come first served basis. A charge of $3.00 per vehicle for a day use parking fee will be in effect for 2006 and there-after.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.

  • No overnight camping - Day use only.
  • No refunds for bad weather.
  • Must bring confirmation letter to the picnic area.

Located 122 miles north of Twin Falls, Idaho, and 22 miles South of Stanley, Idaho. Alturas Picnic Area is 2.6 miles west of State Highway 75 on Forest Road 205.
