MCC Acting CEO Welcomes Kenyan Delegation
Highlights Country Milestones and Partnership
Today, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Acting Chief Executive Officer Rodney Bent welcomed a delegation of Kenyan Ministers led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Moses Wetangula to MCC’s headquarters in Washington. During their meeting, Mr. Bent congratulated Minister Wetangula on the ongoing implementation of the U.S. Government’s $12.7 million MCC threshold program with Kenya. He also noted the recent successful launch of a Public Procurement Oversight Authority and the government’s continued implementation of reforms supporting greater transparency, including e-procurement, in key ministries.
“MCC commends Kenya on its achievement of these ambitious milestones and looks forward to continuing our partnership to combat poverty and corruption, and to encourage economic growth, transparency and prosperity,” said Mr. Bent.
