About This Site

Government Agencies Working Together to Serve Citizens

Welcome to the Citizen Services Network!  (Yes we’ve changed!)  We are in the early process of transitioning the USAServices.gov website to a new site for government citizen services professionals – the CitizenServices.gov website!  Whether you are with federal, state, local, or even a foreign government, we invite you to embrace the challenges and goals of our new site.

Why are we changing?

USA Services was created in 2003 as an E-government (government to citizen) initiative to help federal government agencies improve services to citizens.  Under the leadership of the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Office of Citizen Services (OCS), we partnered with other federal agencies to deliver accurate, timely and consistent government information to citizens, both directly and on behalf of federal agencies government-wide.

The USA Services initiative has matured and is now integrated into the regular customer service operations of the federal government. We are ready to move forward and build on its success.  This new website will consolidate and expand best practices in customer service across all media channels and levels of government.

Who is this new site for?

We are a customer service resource for other government agencies.  The new site will focus on government helping government to enhance service to citizens through integrating technology, conducting research, sharing information, and learning from each other what works best.  We are also expanding our site to include state, local, tribal, and international customer service professionals.

Where are we going?

Our goal is to create a new website to replace the USAServices.gov website that provides several mediums for sharing information among registered users and access to an online repository of research and best practices about how to best serve the public.

Why are we doing this?

Government managers and professionals from federal, state and local, tribal and territories and the international community will only need one URL in order to have access to information and market research; share lessons learned and create best practices; create customer satisfaction and performance measurement standards and guidelines; and discuss innovative ways of improving government service to citizens.
