Keeping Up With MLA 2009

MLA 2009 logo

There are several ways to keep up with events at the Medical Library Association Annual Meeting next week,  even if you can’t make it to Honolulu.

Michelle Kraft has assembled a team of 22 Official Bloggers from all walks of medical librarianship. Representing the Pacific Northwest will be Marcia Francis, Director of the Idaho Health Sciences Library, and Alison Aldrich (that’s me).  Watch the Official MLA 2009 Blog for dispatches from presentations, poster sessions, business meetings, and more.

If you use Twitter, or even if you don’t, you can follow the goings on at this page: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23mla09

#MLA09 is the official Twitter hashtag for the conference. When tweeting from or about MLA, include “#MLA09″ in your tweet to make sure your contribution shows up in the search linked above. If your tweets are protected, you will need to un-protect them for the week to make this work. Unless you want to share news with a whole bunch of librarians in Massachusetts, be careful to use #MLA09 and not #MLA2009. The latter hashtag has already been claimed by the Massachusetts Library Association!

Photos and brief video clips from MLA will be shared on Flickr.

Finally, as per usual, the MLA 2009 CD (once it is produced) will be available in our Lending Library for Network members to borrow. The CDs from 2003 - 2008 are available now. The discs include presentation slides and some audio recordings.
