Export Now to Connect with a World of Opportunity!

Strong views abound on international trade, yet everyone agrees that exports are good for America. Selling U.S. goods and services in global markets adds to the bottom line for U.S. companies and the nation as a whole. These sales translate directly to American jobs and competitiveness, and will play a critical role in our economic recovery.

But should American businesses start exporting now during such tough economic times?

Yes! U.S. businesses remain the most innovative and productive in the world, and willing buyers still exist - including in many markets that continue to grow. Asia, led by China and India, is growing by almost five percent, and the Middle East and Africa are growing at better than two percent. Further, as the world economy recovers, companies that cultivate export business now will be well positioned to fill the demand for U.S. goods and services.

This month, President Obama has proclaimed that the week of May 17-23 is World Trade Week in recognition of the importance of trade to strengthening our economy and enriching our society. The U.S. Commercial Service and other U.S. government agencies are eager to help U.S. firms translate opportunities into sales.

Here are some of the ways you can get started:
