ROUBAIX CAMPGROUND ON SABBATICAL FOR FACE-LIFT
SPEARFISH, SD: September 17, 2004
Visitors used to fall and winter enjoyment at Roubaix Campground
on the Black Hills National Forest Northern Hills Ranger District
will need to find an alternate location this year while the campground
undergoes refurbishing.
Normally the C-loop and the picnic area remain open year-round,
including access to the beach and fishing, but construction work
at the campground this fall and winter means the area will not be
open for public use at all.
“In order for the contractor to work most efficiently we
need to close the area to the public,” said Bonnie Jones,
recreation specialist.
Jones says people should be pleased with the improvements once
the campground re-opens around May 21, 2005. “We will be updating
the water and electrical systems,” said Jones.
