6.6 The XMM-Newton OM Source Catalogue

The OM team, under the auspices of the SSC, also releases catalogues of sources detected by the optical monitor, through the ESA XSA. These are also based on the pipeline processed products. The first OM catalogue, the XMM-OM Serendipitous Ultra-violet Source Survey (SUSS) was released in August 2008. This catalogue focuses on the detections of OM ultraviolet sources but includes optical measurements, where available, for any UV detected object. The SUSS catalogue contains 750,000 OM sources derived from 2417 XMM OM observations which cover 29-54 square degrees of sky (dependent on the OM UV filter). Further details are available at XMM-OM Serendipitous Ultra-violet Source Survey (SUSS), and the catalogue is accessible through the ESA XSA as well as directly from XMM-OM Serendipitous Ultra-violet Source Survey (SUSS) at MSSL, and from OM Catalogue at HEASARC. The catalogue provides 3-colour data across the Galex NUV band of sources having X-ray data as well. Source variability can be obtained from multiple exposures and pointings.
