Objective:
Develop a series of vegetable oil based gear oils for three performance levels: Non-EP (light duty), Industrial (medium duty) and Automatic (heavy duty).

Approach:
Utilize high viscosity vegetable oil products and determine base oil requirements and gear oil grades to be pursued. Epoxidized and viscous thermal soy products and biodegradable soy based thickeners will be investigated. Selected additive components will be evaluated for compatability and performance.
