Ask an Astrobiologist
"Do we have any idea what is pulling on the orbit of Pluto? I have heard several things, from a black hole to a star to a brown dwarf."
  1. Question

Is there any evidence that panspermia keeps going on nowadays?

There is no evidence that panspermia -- the transport of life to a world by microbes traveling between planets -- has ever happened. It is an attractive hypothesis, especially for possible migration of life from Mars to Earth. We know martian rocks, ejected by collisions, can make it to Earth intact. But the martian rocks we have examined do not contain viable microbes, and we can only guess whether they might have in the past. David Morrison
