Locations and LaboratoriesAlbany Sciences Laboratory and Station HeaquartersThe Sciences Lab and Station Headquarters in Albany, California, is an administrative and research facility of the Pacific Southwest Research Station, headquartered in Albany, California. The laboratory and research station are part of the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Pacific Southwest Research Station came into existence on July 1, 1926, with its headquarters in four rooms in Hilgard Hall, on the campus of the University of California, at Berkeley. It grew into a larger building in Berkeley, and many years later moved several miles to our current location at the US Department of Agriculture site in Albany, California. The Albany Sciences Laboratory, housed in the same building, is home to research scientists and staff from several research projects.
