Interests: Weed ecology, insect and pathogen pests of forest trees, fire ecology/fire effects, natural resource management

Duties: Invasive species ecology; policy, planning and management; interagency program coordination; technical assistance to Pacific Island trust territories on invasive species

The economics of various management strategies and timing of intervention for Miconia calvescens on four Hawaiian Islands – a study of the cost effectiveness of control efforts to date in Hawaii at two stages of infestation

Methods for Early Detection and Rapid Response for incipient species in Hawaii

Member steering committees of the Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC) and the statewide Coordinating Group for Alien Pest Species (CGAPS)

Working with CGAPS to implement the Hawaii-Pacific Weed Risk Assessment in Hawaii

Forestry Short Course – Weed Risk Assessment Tools and Planning for Invasive Species

Response to outbreaks of Erythrina gall wasp and Eucalyptus rust.
