Please Read These Important
Tips
LNT:As you enjoy the NRA, please
practice the "Leave No Trace"guidelines.
Weather: The Mount Rogers high
country offers some of the most spectacular views and visitor experiences
within the NRA. This area also merits a special warning. Because
of the altitude of the high country, users should anticipate rapid
weather changes and come prepared. A pleasant day hike can quickly
become a very unpleasant experience if you are not prepared. Always
take rain gear and warm clothing. Clouds and fog can quickly make
orientation impossible, even for those familiar with the high country.
Understand your own limits and the nature of the high country and
exercise appropriate caution.
Maps are important to a safe outing.
Check out the maps page for information about maps and guide.
