"An Artistic Discover" - The 38th District's 2009 Congressional Art Contest

On Saturday, March 11th, Rep. Grace Napolitano hosted the 38th District Congressional Art Competition. All high school students who live or go to school in the 38th district were eligible to compete.

The Congresswoman made a personal gift of $100, $75 and $50 to the first, second and third place winners.

The winning work of art will be exhibited inside the U.S Capitol building and the artist will be invited to attend a reception in Washington, DC.

The second place painting will be shown in the Congresswoman's Washington, DC office and the third place work of art will be exhibited in her office in Santa Fe Springs.

The works were judged by renowned artists Cao Yong of Cao Yong Editions and Juan Solis of Galeria Mijares and filmmaker Christopher Coppola from Christopher Coppola Productions.
