About Us

Mission

The Indiana Partnerships Center exists to provide parents with the skills and knowledge they need to become more actively engaged in the educational lives of their children, and encourages schools to receive parents as true partners in the educational process.

History

The Indiana Partnerships Center is a statewide “Parent Information & Resource Center” funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement.  Now in its twelfth year of funding, The Indiana Partnerships Center  began in 1997 as a program of the Indiana Parent Information Network, which advocates for parents of children with special needs.  In 2001, The Indiana Partnerships Center received 501(c)3 status.  The Indiana Partnerships Center provides empowerment and leadership opportunities to all parents, especially to the underrepresented, and seeks to reform attitudes toward parent involvement by offering schools professional development around creating “family-friendly” climates.  The Indiana Partnerships Center also supports early childhood education programs, such as Parents As Teachers (PAT).

  • All decisions about involving parents should be made in conjunction with parents.
