Parents as Teachers

Scholarship Opportunity for Parents As Teachers Home Educators:

The Indiana Partnerships Center offers training or curriculum scholarships for existing programs that use Parents As Teachers (PAT) curriculum.  These funds are made possible through The Indiana Partnerships Center's U.S. Department of Education Parent Information and Resource Center (PIRC) grant.  Please read the following carefully before applying for a scholarship:

Only one application per program may be submitted for any single training.  Priority is given to programs that: (1) do not receive funding, in whole or in part, from The Indiana Partnerships Center; (2) have not received a scholarship from The Indiana Partnerships Center within the past 12 months; (3) serve minority, low-income, or limited-English proficient families; (4) serve families in Indiana.  Service to priority audiences/geographic area does not guarantee funding.  Programs will be notified in writing of award status.  Scholarships are typically offered as a reimbursement after the following documents are submitted to The Indiana Partnerships Center: (1) a detailed invoice that includes date, location, cost and type of training, and name of Home Educator to whom scholarship was awarded; (2) a copy of registration form sent to PAT National or organization sponsoring training; (3) copy of check sent to PAT National or organization sponsoring training.  Programs experiencing a financial hardship due to The Indiana Partnerships Center's reimbursement policy should contact Lynn Silvey, Early Childhood Coordinator, at: 1-866-391-1039 (toll free)/317-205-2595 (within Indianapolis) -or- lsilvey@fscp.org.  Programs should be willing to submit (within 30 days of notice of award) a playgroup idea or brief article to Synergy, The Indiana Partnerships Center's newsletter for PAT practitioners.
