The 200-mile Delaware River is not only the centerpiece of 5 units of the National Park System, but also the focus of many environmental and historic conservation efforts.

The park operates in cooperation with many organizations. Those within the park may be operating under an MOU. (Memorandum of Understanding) Those doing commercial business in the park may be operating under a business permit.

Did You Know?
... that the reservoir of the proposed Tocks Island Dam would have inundated 30 miles of the Delaware River and 30,000 acres of its river valley (now part of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The defeat of the dam was an early victory of the environmental movement in this country.
