An Outline for America’s Energy Future

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement as the RSC and Congressional Western Caucus introduced the American Energy Innovation Act, an energy bill that promotes innovation, conservation, and responsible production as a means to achieve American energy self-sufficiency and a cleaner, healthier planet. In contrast to the Democrats’ National Energy Tax, the RSC/Western Caucus bill is a positive solution that empowers the American people to find the energy options of tomorrow.

“We can no longer take an ‘out of sight, out of mind’ approach to our country’s energy challenges,” said Congressman Price. “By providing the incentives to create clean, renewable, efficient energy technologies, we can use the shared genius of the American people to finally move us toward a sustainable energy future. This all-you-can-create energy plan provides Americans the tools that will provide a stronger economy, a cleaner environment, and a more stable energy market here at home. When Americans are empowered, there is nothing we cannot create or overcome. By embracing America’s ingenuity, encouraging meaningful conservation, and responsibly utilizing domestic natural resources, we can pave the way to both a healthy environment and a vibrant economy. The American Energy Innovation Act will finally open the doors between us and a stable, independent, and rewarding energy future.”

NOTE: The American Energy Innovation Act, comprehensive energy legislation for the 111th Congress, represents a fiscally responsible approach to reducing our dependence on foreign energy, providing a cleaner environment, and putting Americans to work by:

• Encouraging innovation within the energy market to create the renewable fuel options and energy careers of tomorrow. • Promoting greater conservation and efficiency by providing incentives for easing energy demand and creating a cleaner, more sustainable environment. • Increasing the production of American energy by responsibly utilizing all available resources and technologies and streamlining burdensome regulations.
