National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Training

What: This course concerns integrating environmental reviews into your mission or facilities decision processes as required by NEPA, NASA's regulations for implementing NEPA (14 CFR part 1216), and NPG 8580. In NEPA, Congress created a process for agencies, such as NASA, to meet Federal stewardship responsibilities while carrying out their primary mission. The goals of NEPA include using science to inform decision-making, which is consistent with NASA's mission. Proposed revisions to NPG 7120 (Program and Project Planning) and NPG 8820 (Facilities Planning and Implementation Handbook) will underscore the necessity of timely environmental review to avoid delay and unnecessary cost in mission or facility implementation. This course is highly recommended for flight project managers and facilities planners and engineers, although all civil servants are welcome. The course is Center funded, and is limited to 50 participants. A second session is planned for late April.

When/Where: Friday, January 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in building 1, room E100D and E100E

For more info: Call Kathy Fontaine at 301-286-3093 with any questions. Submit your training request to Kathy Fontaine, Code 114.
