Aspiring young artists in our district should enter the annual Artistic Discovery Contest and win the honor of having their art hung in the Capitol's Cannon tunnel – a winding walkway that serves as the entry point for most Capitol tours. Every spring, high school students submit original pieces of artwork to their congressmen. A winner is selected from each district, and his or her art is then displayed an entire year on the walls of the U.S. Capitol.

Any and all high school students in our community with a passion for art should enter to win this noteworthy honor. Visit the
Congressional Art Competition site for guidelines, forms, and deadlines, and then, contact our Washington office at 202.225.4365 to inform us of your submission.

Having artistic outlets is critical for our youngsters – particularly for those in our communities whose talents are not cultivated or validated as worthwhile. We want to reward and showcase your creative skill, so enter today.
