May 11, 2009 - ANSI survey revealed that 2/3 of Americans with astigmatism, who have never worn contact lenses, say they would do so. Sponsored by Bausch & Lomb, survey indicated that 4 out of 10 people with astigmatism believe they cannot wear contact lenses. ANSI standards covering contact lens performance include ANSI Z80.18-2003 and ANSI Z80.20-2004, which apply to hard and soft lenses, while ISO 13212:1999, ISO 11980:1997, and ISO 11986:1999 have been implemented by the ISO.
