He will undoubtedly be remembered not only for his thoughtfulness on air, but his commitment to the community. He was involved, throughout the years, with Kent Hospital and the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon. He will be greatly missed.

“On a personal note, Doug offered his emcee talents to a community-sponsored event after my accident, the proceeds of which went to help my family retrofit our home. My family will always be grateful for his support during that difficult time. We will miss his friendship.
