(Washington, D.C.)–Like many, I was horrified to hear of the barbaric treatment Nick Berg was subject to as he was murdered by terrorists.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Our efforts in Iraq are far from over as we work to dismantle insurgent groups and establish a secure and peaceful environment.   Enabling Iraq to flourish under democratic self-rule and bringing those responsible for his murder to justice is the strongest retaliation the United States can impose.
