(WARWICK, R.I.)-Congressman Jim Langevin today announced
that he will host a town meeting on the state of health care in Rhode Island
entitled: “Quality Health Care: Right or Benefit?” at the Cranston Senior
Center, Monday, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. Langevin will be joined by
a panel of local health care experts who will field questions from members
of the public.
“While Rhode Island is ahead of the curve in providing quality health care to low and middle income residents, we still have a long way to go,” said Congressman Langevin. “I have called this town meeting to hear directly from the people of Rhode Island, about problems they are experiencing, or foresee, in their daily lives concerning issues of health care. In Congress, we will be considering many different initiatives and Rhode Islanders deserve an opportunity to have their concerns heard.” After a brief introductory statement by Congressman Langevin and the assembled panelists, members of the public will have an opportunity to speak directly to their representative in Washington, D.C. about this important issue. All Rhode Islanders are encouraged to attend this town meeting to influence public policy that will affect their daily lives. -30- |
