NOTES FOR DATA ON THIS PAGE: Data do not include
transshipment activity. Transshipments are shipments that enter or exit the
United States by way of a U.S. Customs port on the northern or southern border,
but whose origin or destination is a country other than Canada or Mexico. All
figures are based on the declared gross shipment weight and include packaging.
Shipping weight for imports may be underestimated because U.S. Customs Service
does not require weight to be reported at the individual commodity level for
surface trade.
